A Victorian Conversation: Dr Robertson's Vision

Step back in time to early 1876 and join us for tea and crumpets served in a restored Victorian parlour lit by oil lamps and the light of a roaring fire and eavesdrop on a Victorian conversation between the eminent physician, Dr Robertson, and his trusted housekeeper, Agnes. This performance is one of our 'Winter Warmers' for January and February but can be arranged for other times of the year, subject to availability.

Elizabethan Experience: Unto the Higher Power

A dramatic reading of letters and other writings pertaining to the visits to Buxton of Mary Queen of Scots whilst under custody of the Earl of Shrewsbury, husband to Bess of Hardwick and builder of the New Hall. This performance was originally developed in 2023 for the events marking the 450th anniversary of Mary's first visit to Buxton in 1573.
