This month sees the annual Heritage Open Days festival so it was a good moment to ask ‘what do we mean by heritage?’. We even went back to school to hear what the teachers think!

We chat, this month, to John Philips, the ex-editor of the local paper, Buxton Advertiser, about his 34 years at the paper.

We speak to Viv Russell of Tarmac and how he sees quarrying contributing to the Buxton story.

We also introduce our new character guide, Robert Rippon Duke, and what he brought, and might bring, to the heritage of Buxton.
