The rise of women…Discover Buxton and Heritage Open Days

Written by Netta Christie on September 05, 2016

This month we are in conversation with three of the women who give voice to some of the famous women from Buxton's past.

We are joined by Ness Highet who wrote the script for Vera and the wounded soldiers which will be performed as part of Heritage Open Days on Sunday 11th at 11 and 2 at the Dome.

Jane Collier joins to talk about Mary Queen of Scots and the legacy she leaves in the town.

Finally we hear from Miss Lilian Violet Bowdine aka Carol Spencer who talks about the theatrical heritage of the town.

Along the way we hear from the university and their contribution to Heritage Open Days from 8-11 September.

Come and listen to our tales.
