Initially Nick and Netta thought that they would be able to run the tours between them but it soon became obvious that they would have to have additional support and expertise. First to arrive was the marvellous Michael Clements who had already achieved a comprehensive knowledge of the town through his work at Buxton Tourist Information centre, where he continues to work on a part time basis. He also had been a guide at Pooles Cavern for a number of years so was able to add a great deal of information about both the cavern and the surrounding Grinlow woods. Michael is also an accomplished musician, artist and raconteur all vital ingredients in terms of the tram experience.
We were also delighted, when after years in academia; Fred Rolland also joined the growing team. Fred is a very quick witted guy, an ability which has proved very useful when being asked probing questions as to the town’s history. He is very knowledgeable about the town and its waters and is passionate about the Opera House and the local music scene.
