History and Heritage Walking Tour
This guided, in-depth, non-strenuous amble around lower Buxton allows you to get up close and personal with the fascinating history and heritage of the lower town and its landmarks.
Leaving from the Opera House through the Square we go inside The Old Hall Hotel to see the fascinating window writing, and then to St Annes Well to sample our famous waters. We explain the history of the Crescent and then go inside the Thermal baths now the Cavendish Arcade to see past and present nestling together. Passing through the Quadrant we stop to see inside Clowes the chemist before ending our walk at the Devonshire Dome. There is an opportunity to stay here and get a coffee or tea whilst further exploring the former Devonshire Royal Hospital or we return you to our starting point.
You are also able to take an audio tour of the dome prepared by their students.

The tour was excellent. All agreed that it was a thoroughly enjoyable and informative walk. Jane was well informed, articulate and good humoured - just right. Please pass my thanks on to her. Our accommodation was very good and we plan to return to Buxton next year.
